Note
I mistakenly referred to the May 31 list on the (May 10, 1971) post as far as referrals to the songs were concerned.
The previous post has since been updated. I think I got it right this time. Feel free to check it out.

Now on to the regularly scheduled post

ON THIS DATE:

World No Tobacco Day
Governor Jimmy Carter is on the cover of Time Magazine.

Led Zeppelin played at the Sports Stadium in Orlando Florida

AS FOR THE MUSIC

The Raiders (Remember Paul Revere and the Raiders?) (Those guys) have the top single ahead of Carole King.
The Partridge Family (Them guys again?) (See previous posts.) had the nerve to beat out Paul McCartney's second solo effort for top LP.

ALSO

Ringo Starr has his first solo hit and it wasn't easy.
Jerry Reed knows when he's not cold.
The Partridge Family (here we go again) don't want to go all the way.
Elvis and Joe Cocker are ready to leave.

REMEMBER THESE GUYS THAT ALSO HAPPEN TO BE ON THIS LIST?
Mathew's Southern Comfort? Ocean? Donny Osmond and the Osmonds?
